And the 2018 Top Travel Destinations are…
15. Rome
Rome is a classic destination filled with art, architecture, and food. Be sure to take in Michelangelo’s iconic painted ceiling at the Sistine Chapel, Apollo and Daphne, which is Bernini’s life-size intricate marble statue at the Galleria Borghese, and visit Galleria Borghese room VIII to see six Caravaggio paintings. Notable sites to visit in Rome include the Colosseum where gladiators battled, St. Peter’s Basilica, and Trevi Fountain. Be sure to grab a gelato on the go or enjoy a nice dinner of carbonara and wine while in Rome.
14. Honolulu, HI
Nothing beats a tropical paradise getaway so it’s no wonder Honolulu is one of the most searched destinations for 2018. If you’re looking to catch some rays, you might want to check out Waikiki Beach, but if you’re looking to catch some waves, head out to Oahu’s North Shore for fantastic surfing. Even if you’re not a surfer, it’s fun to take a lesson or two. For the more adventurous, Hawaii offers snorkeling in crystal clear waters, hiking in lush jungles, and even shark encounters. Don’t forget to see a traditional Luau while visiting Honolulu.
13. Orlando, FL
The Theme Park Capital of the World is a perfect destination for families, couples, and friends alike. Be sure to see at least some of the theme parks while in Orlando such as favorites Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. If you’re interested in getting away for a date night, Orlando also has the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art and tons of dining options on Restaurant Row. Sports fans can also catch a basketball game with the Orlando Magic or a soccer game with Orlando City SC while visiting.
12. Sydney
Sydney is a beautiful, modern city surrounded by National Parks and beaches. For a fun time in the city, visit the Sydney Opera House for a tour and a show, Sydney Harbour Bridge for a BridgeClimb, and Darling Harbour, a waterfront destination where you can find a lot of major attractions. The statues in Hyde Park and Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair are two historical features not to be missed.
11. Manila
While Manila is located within the Philippines, its unique history includes Spanish, American, and Chinese influences. Historical San Agustin Church and Fort Santiago are both located within Intramuros, a historic walled area within Manila, and as a top destination that showcases the Spanish influence on Manila architecture, it’s not to be missed. Another destination to be sure and see is Binondo, Manila’s Chinatown and the oldest one in the world. It’s a popular destination that features dining, shopping, and you can see it all by horse-drawn carriage ride. And with modern activities such as spas, diving, biking, and a bustling night scene, it’s no wonder Manila is one of the most searched destinations of 2018.
10. Dubai
Is there any place on Earth as extravagant as Dubai? Visitors can admire the city of Dubai from the 148th level of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. If you prefer to keep both feet on the ground, check out the 30 minutes show at the Dubai Fountain, the world’s second-largest water fountain choreographed with music and light which was designed by the same company behind Las Vegas’ dancing fountains at the Bellagio Hotel.
