Southwest Employee Killed in Accident at Dulles International Airport

A Southwest Airline employee died overnight as the result of a collision that occurred Thursday morning between the baggage cart the worker was piloting and one of the Washington D.C. airport’s vehicles, according The Washington Post.

Investigation into Fatal Accident Continues

No one else was injured in the accident.

The unnamed employee was airlifted to a local hospital but later died. According to another media report, Southwest is working with authorities on the accident investigation – and it goes on to quote Southwest spokeperson Brandy King:

“The Southwest Airlines family is greatly saddened by the passing of our Southwest family member,” King said in a statement, “and we extend our heartfelt sympathies and support to his entire family at this time.”

No further details were immediately available.
