Pan Am Will Return to the Skies in 2025

Published by FareCompare on July 16, 2024

If you're feeling nostalgic for the luxe days from the "golden age of travel," you can relive them with Pan Am next year — for a price. From June 27 to July 8, 2025, iconic airline Pan Am will fly 50 fabulous travelers on a sleek private air program that will visit six landmark destinations in style. The cost of the exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime experience starts at $59,950 for double occupancy; solo travelers must shell out $65,500 to participate.

The airline, known for its legendary service, quality, and caché, ceased operations in 1991, but its legacy of setting the gold standard for air travel remains. As reported by Afar, the trip was forged by Pan American World Airways, which launched in February 2024, along with the Pan Am Museum Foundation, and is officially licensed by Pan Am Brands.

Details About Pan Am's Special 2025 Flight

Defunct Pan Am has partnered with Bartelings Criterion to offer a truly unique experience for travelers with a craving for unparalleled luxury. The experience, which lasts 12 days, departs New York and visits Bermuda, Libson, Marseille, London, and Foynes, the airline's original transatlantic destinations.

The fortunate 50 travelers will board an all business class, privately chartered Boeing 757-200 that features upscale catering options and an open bar on every flight. Seats have been specially fitted to encourage socializing and in-flight gathering, a hallmark of those halcyon days when flying was more associated with glamour than anything else.

According to Pan Am, the journey will "begin and end with gala evenings at the newly renovated Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Along the way, guests will stay in other hotels that are among the world’s best, including the Rosewood in Bermuda, the Four Seasons Ritz in Lisbon, the Savoy in London, and Dromoland Castle in Ireland."

As for whether there will be additional Pan Am journeys, Pan Am World Airways CEO Craig Carter stated that the 2025 voyage is "the first of many exclusive themed flights back into the luxury travel space."

He added, "Relaunching Pan Am requires a careful balance of honoring its storied past while innovating for the future," adding that the objective is to recognize the nostalgia the brand evokes while also updating the product with modern amenities "so that it resonates with both our longtime fans and new customers."
