American Airlines has announced its first airfare sale for U.S. flights to Cuba; the airline is scheduled to begin Cuba service starting Sept. 7. Here are the details from the airline’s press release to FareCompare.
American Airlines Announces Airfare Sale for Cuba
Where: Sale fares apply to five cities in Cuba – Cienfuegos, Camagüey, Holguín, Varadero and Santa Clara. The U.S. government has yet to award routes to Havana.
Travel dates: Sept. 7 to Nov. 15 (dates may vary slightly depending on destination).
Minimum stay: 3 nights or a Sunday, whichever is fulfilled first.
Book by: Sale ends June 28.

- $198 round-trip (excluding taxes) – for flights to Cuba originating in Boston, Miami, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Tampa and Washington, D.C
- $298 round-trip (excluding taxes) – for flights to Cuba originating in Houston, Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth
- $398 round-trip (excluding taxes) – for flights to Cuba originating in Los Angeles and San Francisco
