It’s Not Too Late to Save on Holiday Airfares
The bad news: If you haven’t already booked your Thanksgiving airfare (not to mention your Christmas and New Year’s Eve flights), you missed some of the best deals. FareCompare says the next best option is to leave Monday, Nov. 23, or Tuesday, Nov. 24. The site predicts the most expensive day to depart will be Wednesday, Nov. 25, while Sunday, Nov. 29, will be the most expensive day to return.
American Airlines, US Airways Set to Operate as One
American Airlines officials said they don't foresee any issues, but they recommend that passengers give themselves extra time to check in. "American picked a Saturday because it's the slowest travel day and the cheapest travel day," FareCompare.com's Rick Seaney said. "Just in case something were to happen."
