Brussels Airlines is a member of Star Alliance and International Air Transport Association (IATA). It is owned almost entirely by SN Airholding, which is in turn 45% owned by Lufthansa AG.

Founded in November of 2006, Brussels Air commenced operations the following March. It was created after the merger of SN Brussels Airlines and Virgin Express. Now, it operates flights to almost 100 destinations in North America, Africa, and Europe.
