Headed to northern Italy or the Alps? If so, we wouldn’t be surprised if Air Dolomiti was involved in your adventure. Named after a section of the Alps called the “Dolomites,” Air Dolomiti is an Italian regional airline and subsidiary of Lufthansa, which has a base at Munich Airport and is headquartered on the other side of the Alps, in Dossobuono, Villafranca di Verona, Italy.
Air Dolomiti operates flights out of Munich and over the Alps to and from 7 beautiful destinations in Italy: Bari, Bologna, Brindisi, Florence, Turin, Venice, and Verona. It began operations in 1991 with the goal of connecting smaller Italian cities with the rest of Europe. Today, as the Italian branch of Lufthansa, it connects travelers from main Italian airports to Germany through around 370 flights per week.
