Whether you need to make future travel plans, keep track of current travel plans, or alter travel plans on the fly, there are a lot of apps out there that can make your life a little easier.

A few weeks ago, we launched the FareCompare When-to-Fly iPhone App that’s designed to help you find great deals and plan your next great vacation. We also highlighted what we think are some of the Top iPhone Travel Apps out there. However, we didn’t take a look at the available airline apps on the market, and some carriers have helpful mobile offerings that are worth giving a try.

    American Airlines

The American Airlines iPhone app allows you to track your personalized travel info.

You can keep an eye on flight times, departure times, gates, and seat numbers. You can also book a flight and even play a little Sudoku. Get complete details on the American Airlines iPhone App.

    Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines’ app lets you access your Rapid Rewards account and check-in for a flight through said account. You can also monitor flight status and much more.

One of the highlights of the app is that it connects you with Southwest’s Ding! Fares, so you can get an update on a deal while you’re on the go. Find out more about the Southwest Airlines iPhone App.

    Delta Air Lines

Like many of the airline apps, Delta’s lets you monitor flight schedules and flight status. You can also keep track of your specific trips, access your boarding pass, and check-in.

You’ll also find perks such as the ability to store your airport parking info, and check the weather at the airport. Get more details on the Delta Air Lines iPhone App.

    Alaska Airlines/Horizon Airlines

Along with checking in and monitoring flight status, the Alaska Airlines iphone app lets you set up flight alerts, change seats, monitor your upgrade status, and view in-depth travel itinerary details.

Learn more about the Alaska Airlines iPhone App.

Many of the airline apps share some of the same features. We’d love to hear from you if you think one airline is doing things better than the others, so take our poll and let us know which airline iPhone app is your favorite.
