Airport Lost and Found: The Complete Guide
Maybe you’re a seasoned pro at scoring the cheapest airline tickets, but you’re only human: the odds are that someday you’ll lose something at the airport or leave something on a plane.
Getting your items back is not guaranteed, but you’ll have the best shot if you report the items right away to the people responsible for where you think you left it.
Checked Luggage: How to Protect It
Remember, airport lost and found phone numbers are rarely the same as TSA lost and found numbers. Call the TSA number if you believe you left something at a TSA checkpoint. If you left something somewhere else at the airport, call the airport lost and found number.
Here is a chart for FareCompare readers of the 25 busiest U.S. airports along with numbers to call if you lose something there.

If you leave something on-board an airplane, you should contact your airline instead of the airport or TSA. Some airlines have phone numbers specifically devoted to finding items left on-board, but others ask that you call their customer service line. Here is a list of major airlines and the numbers to call if you have left something on-board. Check airline websites too: some of them have web pages where you can report lost items.
