Weird Travel Stories + Video: Week Ending Jan. 31

This week: Super Bowl, Super Snow, Super Weird Pilot Snafu!

Keep coming back, we update this thing daily.

Strange, Weird, Unusual or Just Plain Odd

Pilot lockout: A Delta pilot is inadvertently locked out of the cockpit. Good thing the co-pilot wasn’t!

No drone zone: Go to the game or watch the Super Bowl on TV but do not even think about flying your drone over the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona this Sunday.

Denver bans pot souvenirs: No more boxer shorts with marijuana leaves on them at Denver International Airport. Execs have banned them for fear it could “send the wrong message.” Which wrong message? That purchasing small amounts of marijuana is legal in the state? Or that pot-themed underpants are tacky?

Not radioactive: Imagine Dragons will perform aboard a Southwest flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta in late February. If you can’t afford it, might want to enter Southwest’s contest.

Happy passengers, sad passengers: American’s CEO was asked if the airline was going to pass fuel savings on to customers or if they’d be happy enough with nicer planes, etc. Doug Parker’s response (thanks, Skift): “We are not asking our customers to be happy with anything.”

Blizzard is over – for now: Juno is history but it’s only January, so it’ll pay to be ready for the next one. Some stuff to know (quick read).

Always time for donuts: All the food concessions at Boston’s Logan shut down in the face of the might snowstorm – heck, the entire airport was shut down – except for one little eatery. Good old Dunkin’ Donuts stayed open to keep us going (or at least to keep the folks who spent the night plowing going).

And the busiest international airport is: Dubai. Interesting, no?

Etiquette lesson for drinkers: JetBlue explains how not to exit your row when you have to use the restroom (video below).

VIDEO: Don’t do this.
