No bomb was found aboard a Virgin Atlantic flight that landed in Boston last night, but authorities didn’t know the threat was a hoax until after a search of the plane and all 216 passengers and crew.

According to news reports, a suspicious note was found in one of the plane’s lavatories, and it mentioned the word “bomb” (as well as a date – “Nov. 11” – according to some media outlets) but officials are not releasing much in the way of details.

It is not known when the note was discovered once the plane left London’s Heathrow airport, but when Virgin Atlantic Flight 11 arrived at Logan at 6 p.m. Sunday, FBI agents and Massachusetts State Troopers with K-9 units were on hand to greet and rescreen all onboard.
