Valentine's Day – Cheap Flights to Popular Destinations

For some, Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) is all about being with that special someone. For others, it’s a family affair. Either way, we’ve got ideas for cheap flights to romantic and fun destinations that are guaranteed to be special – and won’t cost an arm and a leg.

Shopping for Valentine’s Day Flights

Keep these tips in mind as you shop.

  • Check out the deals: See the Deals Blog for the latest airline sales and cheap cities (a few sales have specifically targeted Valentine’s Day).
  • Compare prices: Don’t go to a single airline site – the only way to be sure you’re getting the best deal possible is by comparing prices.
  • Fly midweek: Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday this year. The good news is, the cheapest days to fly are typically Tuesdays and Wednesday, so try departing one of those days and return on another less expensive day, Saturday. Avoid flights on Fridays and Sundays, usually the most expensive days to fly.
  • Book soon: The cheapest ticket prices are usually available up to 14 days before departure (or 7 days before departure for many low cost carriers). Prices can jump after that.
