TSA Officer Who Left Inappropriate Note in Luggage to be Fired

The TSA officer who apparently discovered a vibrator in a female passenger’s luggage, then added a cheery note telling the woman to, “Get your freak on girl” is no longer screening bags, and the TSA has now “initiated action to remove the individual from federal service.”

Note to Passenger: ‘Get your freak on girl’

However, according to the TSA Blog, the officer “is entitled to due process and the protections embodied in the Privacy Act” and there will be no further comment at this time.

Read about the TSA’s most outrageous incidents

The actions of the screener came to light when the note’s recipient tweeted about it and included a picture of the note. Before long (say, a matter of seconds), the whole incident went viral and the buzz was thunderous.

The TSA, meanwhile, has released no clues as to the identity or gender of the individual officer involved.

Moral of the story: If you are going to do something that an employer might possibly find stupid, remember that in today’s world of instant messaging via social media, the whole world is watching (including the guys that hired you and can fire you).

Question for our readers: Have you ever found an unexpected message in your luggage? If so, care to share?
