New Fall Airfare Sales Start at $19

Thinking about a fall vacation? Today is an excellent day to shop for cheap airfare, thanks to several new airline sales including one from Frontier featuring deals for as little as $19+ each-way (not including all taxes and fees).

In many cases, these flight deals focus on select routes or cities that are “slow”, meaning the airlines may be having trouble filling plane seats to these destinations. That’s good news for you, if these destinations are on your radar, but since seats are limited, they will go fast.

As always, these sale prices include several restrictions: most of these deals are good for travel only during the midweek or on a Saturday, and although most are good for flights extending into mid-December (and Frontier’s deals are good through mid-February), the deals do include blackout dates during the Thanksgiving travel period. Shop Tuesdays for the Cheapest Flights

These sales perfectly illustrate a favorite FareCompare tip: The best day to shop for airfare is Tuesday afternoon at about 3pm. Here’s why: for the past few years, airlines have gotten into the habit of launching airfare sales either late Monday or early Tuesday; to remain competitive, especially on airfare search sites, other airlines must match these sale prices on their own routes, a process that is complete by Tuesday at 3pm.

Note: Not all of the new sales listed above will have deals that are right for everyone; again, most sale prices are good for certain destinations only, or for flights on specific days. If these requirements are too restrictive, check out the deals on FareCompare, for deals and destinations across the country and around the world.
