JetBlue Launches New Airfare Hike

According to airfare analyst and FareCompare CEO Rick Seaney, discount carrier JetBlue launched an airfare hike Thursday (Oct. 9).

Matching Activity Underway

The hike was quickly matched late Thursday night by both American Airlines and US Airways. Seaney described this as “rare increase activity” by the New York-based airline and noted that the price of oil had recently dipped. While analysis on the specifics is still underway, such increases are typically up to $10 round-trip.

This information will be updated as more details unfold.
