Frontier, Spirit Launch New Routes to U.S., Mexico, Caribbean
Two popular discount airlines have expanded into new territory just in time for summer.

Frontier: Denver to Dominican Republic, Cabo
Frontier Airlines announced new nonstop seasonal flight between Denver (DEN) and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic (PUJ). The new service will operate on Saturdays only from June 9 through Aug. 4.
It will also add a second once-a-week flight to Cabo San Lucas (SJD) on Wednesdays starting May 23. Frontier already offers a seasonal Saturday flight, plus it operates on a December – April schedule.
Spirit: Toluca/Mexico City, Detroit, San Diego
Spirit Airlines says it will begin daily nonstops from Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) to three new cities beginning on June 21:
- DFW – Toluca/Mexico City
- DFW – Detroit
- DFW – San Diego

Airlines Offer Intro Fares to New Destinations
Frontier is offering the following introductory fares for a limited time only:
- DEN - Punta Cana, from $350 each-way
- DEN - Cabo San Lucas, from $246 each-way
Spirit’s new destinations are available at these discounted prices, also for a limited time:
- DFW – San Diego or Detroit, from $28.79 each-way
- DFW – Toluca/Mexico City, from $64.73 each-way
