Do You Live in One of the World’s Happiest Countries?

Seeing as how there’s a report (and list) for just about everything these days, you will not be surprised by the new World Happiness Report from the Sustainable Development Solutions Network for the United Nations.

Happiest Countries

Yes, the U.N. is interested in the state of our happiness. So which of the 158 nations surveyed are feeling upbeat? Mostly Europe plus Australia and New Zealand. Here are the top ten (click to find cheap flights to these exemplars of elation).

  1. Switzerland (Could it have been all that wonderful chocolate?)
  2. Iceland
  3. Denmark
  4. Norway
  5. Canada
  6. Finland
  7. Netherlands
  8. Sweden
  9. New Zealand
  10. Australia

For the record, the United States ranked #15, Brazil #16, the United Kingdom #21, and Qatar was #28. Perhaps the biggest surprise [to your editor, anyway] was affable Italy which only came in at #50.

See the entire list. If you’d like to make a case for moving your country up (or down), please share. It would make us very happy.
