Delta Air Lines says it’s backing up its pledge of “reliable and on-time baggage” service with a guarantee. Don’t get too excited though because you won’t get any money.
Delta’s Bag Guarantee
What you will get is miles, and here’s how it works:
- If your checked-bag doesn’t arrive at the carousel in 20 minutes, you can receive 2,500 bonus miles
- But you must be a SkyMiles member at the time of the flight
- And you must fill out this form within three days of the flight
- And it only lasts through March 31
According to USA Today, that last caveat is because this is – for the moment anyway – an experiment, and who knows if it will continue.
Alaska’s On-Time Baggage Guarantee
Alaska Airlines has had a similar on-time baggage guarantee for years, which gives you a choice: 2,500 miles or a $25 discount code good for future travel.
Which would you rather have?
