If arriving on time is important to you, or avoiding a canceled flight – which probably includes all of us – consider flying Delta. Maybe.
Latest Statistics: November 2014
According to the latest U.S. Bureau of Transportations statistics, Delta did well in both categories but it only included statistics from November 2014. Still, it says something about the carrier. Take a look:
Highest On-Time Arrival Rates
Hawaiian came in first but it nearly always does and we will chalk it up to the lack of snow I n Honolulu. Great job by Delta and Alaska is looking good as well.
- Hawaiian Airlines – 89.4%
- Delta Air Lines – 86.6%
- Alaska Airlines – 84.7%
Lowest On-Time Arrival Rates
Denver-based Frontier may be hampered by hometown weather but there can be other factors at play.
- Envoy Air (formerly American Eagle Airlines) – 69.3%
- Frontier Airlines – 72.3%
- SkyWest Airlines – 76.4%
Lowest Rates of Canceled Flights
Virgin America also performed well in this category but it operates far fewer flights than Delta.
- Delta Air Lines – 0.1%
- Virgin America – 0.1%
- Hawaiian Airlines – 0.3%
NOTE: The ratings can change from month to month so consider this a snapshot in time – but as we said, one that gives some indication of how a carrier is doing.
