Chicago O’Hare Named ‘Worst Airport in America’

The Daily Beast has just released its third annual list of “worst airports” in America, and taking top honors this year is Chicago’s O’Hare International. For the record, Chicago’s Midway also ranked high, coming in at #7.

It should be noted that only the 50 airports in the U.S. were under consideration, and they were judge by a variety of measures including on-time arrivals, security wait times and airport comfort and amenities, which used the J.D. Powers & Associates Satisfaction Index (and see which airlines the index liked).

Is your airport on the worst list? You can still find cheap flights from there

    Chicago Tribune: “We’re Number One”

The Chicago Tribune newspaper had fun with the O’Hare selection, beginning its article on the ‘honor’ by stating, “To the surprise of no one, we’re number 1!” However, the article went on to say that the inclusion of Midway may be “a bit of a bad rap.”

Perhaps Chicagoans will be pleased to learn that O’Hare is not on every worst airport list. For example, it failed to place on the recent “Worst Airports for Sleeping” list – in fact, only one U.S. airport made the cut for that top 10 – Los Angeles International.
