Busiest Airports for Thanksgiving

According to Orbitz, anyone flying in or out of Los Angeles International (LAX) will not be lonely! The site reports the Southern California hub will likely be the busiest airport in the U.S. during the upcoming Thanksgiving travel season.

Busiest Airports at Thanksgiving

Orbitz analyzed bookings for the top 50 U.S. airports during Nov. 25 to 30, and here is their top ten. Newcomers to the busy list include Denver, Orlando, Dallas and surprisingly, Atlanta (Hartsfield Jackson always seems busy to us).

  3. San Francisco (SFO)
  4. Denver (DEN)
  5. Boston (BOS)
  6. New York (JFK)
  7. Orlando (MCO)
  8. Newark (EWR)
  9. Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW)
  10. Atlanta (ATL)

Least Busy U.S. Airports

Looking for a little peace and quiet? Chance are good you’ll find it at Omaha’s Eppley Airfield (OMA), Maui’s Kahului Airport (OGG) or Mineta San Jose International (California) which topped Orbitz’ list of least busy airports.

Tip: If you’ll fly at Thanksgiving, for goodness sake, get to the airport early. We cannot stress this enough.
