Boston Bombing Update: Airlines Let Travelers Change Plans for Free

Most airlines are waiving change fees for travel in and out of Boston in the wake of the horrific bombings at yesterday’s marathon, but you must hurry; the waivers are only good for the next few days (though rebooked travel periods vary).

Not Just Boston – Watch for Heightened Security

No matter where you fly in the next few days – or perhaps even months – here’s some advice: Get to the airport early.

In the wake of the Boston bombing, security is tightening up at airports across the country. Expect slow lines at TSA checkpoints and unusual delays. Arrive extra early – and be patient.

List of Airlines Waiving Fees

Click the airline name below for the latest information on Boston flights and fee waivers.

Note: FareCompare found only one U.S. airline – discounter Spirit – that does not appear offer a fee waiver, nor does it provide any information on Boston travel on its website. However, we offer a link to Spirit’s homepage anyway, in case this changes.

Some may notice Frontier missing from the list but the airline does not offer flights to Boston.
