You don’t have much money but this is your year for Europe or Asia or other international dream destination. Of course, you’ll be stuck on a plane for hours but you’re determined to fly economy – and good for you!
So which airlines offer the least sardine-like experience during a long flight in economy or coach? Fortunately, Skift has some answers.
Best Economy Class for Long Flights
According to Skift’s calculations, which took into account things like seat-pitch and seat comfort, the top spot for world’s best long-haul economy airline was a tie, as was the case for the runners-up.
- Etihad and Qatar Airways
- All Nippon Airways (ANA), Emirates Airlines and Turkish Airlines
The best a U.S. carrier could do was take top spot in the regionals:
- North America’s best for long-haul economy: American Airlines
- Africa’s best for long-haul economy: South African Airways
- South America’s best for long-haul economy: Avianca.
