Best Airports for Romance? Maybe. Maybe Not.

If you’ve been looking for love in all the wrong places you might want to try the airport. At least that’s what a flurry of recent news stories suggest.

The latest promises the five best airports for “hook ups” which FareCompare will chivalrously refer to as “dating.” Responses were based on a survey of 60,000 presumably romantically-inclined members of an online meeting site.

Here’s a list of airports that really are worth a visit

5 Best Dating Airports

The following airports were cited because they offer a lively and varied bar/dining scene, or because of long delays – a necessary ingredient perhaps for igniting some sparks.

  1. Orlando
  2. Miami
  3. Newark
  4. Boston
  5. Philadelphia

More Romantic Airport Lists

Don’t see your airport? Do not despair. Awhile back, BudgetTravel cited these two airports as best for romantic connections:

  1. Chicago’s O’Hare
  2. Chicago’s Midway

Something for business travelers to keep in mind.

There’s more. A couple of years ago, the men’s care brand AXE came up with a global list of best and worst connections airport, but only U.S. airports cracked the top five for best airports (Paris’ Charles de Gaulle was number seven):

  1. Newark
  2. JFK
  3. Philadelphia
  4. Dallas
  5. Minneapolis

So-called worst connection airports included Phoenix, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. If this all seems completely mystifying, you’re not alone. FareCompare suggests airports stay out of the romance business altogether – and just help us get where we need to go.
