If you live in Los Angeles or Honolulu – or connect through these cities – you will soon have new options for international travel. Plus LA is adding service to more U.S. cities.
Hawaiian Goes to China
Hawaiian Airlines has announced that a year from now, it expects to begin routes from Honolulu to Beijing. The airline plans to offer non-stop service three times a week aboard Airbus A330 aircraft, which can carry nearly 300 passengers.
This would be the only non-stop service between these two cities and Hawaiian tourism officials are reportedly expecting a windfall from Chinese visitor spending to the tune of some $80 million a year.
American – Los Angeles to Sao Paulo
American Airlines has some big expansion plans for its Los Angeles hub. It expects to begin flights from LA to Sao Paulo, Brazil, sometime in November.
The carrier is also scheduled to begin service this summer from LA to Pittsburgh, Columbus (Ohio), Indianapolis, and Hartford. It is also being reported that America will also add service from LA to Bentonville, Arkansas, and the Oregon’s Eugene and Redmond via “agreements with feeder carriers.”
