Las Vegas-based leisure carrier Allegiant Air, fresh off its decision to add a fee for carry-on bags, says it will begin offering new non-stop flights to Honolulu this summer from Fresno and Las Vegas.

    Allegiant’s New Honolulu Schedule

An introductory fare of $174 one-way is expected to spur demand and may lower prices on other carriers who are currently offering Hawaiian flights from Fresno and Las Vegas at significantly higher airfares (as of this writing). Allegiant’s Honolulu schedule is as follows:

    • From Fresno (FAT): Flights on Sundays beginning June 30
    • From Las Vegas (LAS): Depart on Wed./Fri./Sat.; return Sun./Wed./Fri. beginning June 29

Allegiant Moves in on Cities Dropped by AirTran

Allegiant says its special Honolulu fares must be booked by April 30. Also, these prices are not available on all flights and could disappear at any time.

Allegiant: Carry-on Bag Fees and More

While Allegiant’s new Hawaii fares do include taxes and government fees, they do not include baggage fees. On the new Honolulu routes, the leisure carrier charges $70 roundtrip a piece for a first or second checked-bag, while a carry-on bag will cost $50 roundtrip if paid in advance or $70 roundtrip if paid for at the airport.
