Fall is a great time for getaways – a chance to relax before the holiday rush, and, a chance to take advantage of some of the lowest airfares of the season.
So we put together five getaways for Halloween, which are actually pretty good places to go anytime of the year. Â

Five Cheap Halloween Getaways
This year, get someone else to pass out the Milky Ways – you’ve things to do and places to go! Some ideas, in no particular order:
1. Find Cheap Deals to Los Angeles
This town has a number of great celebrations, including Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festivities, and costume parades for animals. Tour a Hollywood “celebrity cemetery” and see where the stars are buried, or stay in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where some say you can catch a glimpse of Marilyn’s ghost (see the video).

2. Find Cheap Deals to New York
Nobody parties like a New Yorker and here’s a list of places to flaunt your costume. Or you could hit the parade in the West Village. If you’re in a literary mood, have a drink at the spot where Dylan Thomas had his last one (and maybe see his ghost).
3. Find Cheap Deals to Chicago
What would you like to do – visit a haunted house, enjoy a party or two or three? Chicago is has all that and more. Plus you can visit Al Capone’s grave nearby if you want to see what the notorious gangster is up to this time of year.
A Boston ghost cruise? Why not. But if you’d prefer to be on solid ground, head to Beacon Hill for a walking tour of the neighborhood, complete with “stories about ghosts, murders, and mayhem” and whatever else is lurking there.
