• AirTran Summer Sale – Book by May 10

This great new sale covers so many favorite destinations, plus it’s good for travel all the way through Nov. 16. Fares start as low as $43+ each-way (not including taxes and fees). Caution: there are a lot of summer blackout dates, so shop carefully. See AirTran’s website for the details.

• Frontier “Classic Plus” Sale – Book by May 2

This is a sale for those who like a bit more comfort for travel: Frontier is taking 10% off its Classic Plus seats if you use the promo code CPMKT. What does Classic Plus get you? Two free checked-bags (including golf and fishing equipment), more seat room, refundable fares and more. Good for travel through Nov. 13, and see Frontier’s website for more.

• JetBlue Early Summer Sale – Book by May 15

Flights start at just $49+ each way (not including taxes/fees) on select flights to some very nice destinations, and these prices are good for travel from late May through June 22. See the JetBlue website for advance purchase requirements.

• Southwest Early Summer Sale – Book by May 2

The new Click ‘n Save Deals are good for a week, with fares as low as $39+ each way (not including taxes/fees) but we aren’t seeing a whole lot of those super-cheap fares. Good for travel through June 29; see the Southwest site for blackout dates around Memorial Day.

• Virgin America Sale – Book by April 29

Call this an early summer/late summer sale: prices start at $59+ each-way (don’t forget to add in the taxes and fees), and it’s good for travel from May 9 through June 15 – and – from Aug. 24 through Oct. 27 only.
