Prices Drop Sharply in Late August
According to the airline calendar, fall comes a little early this year - right around Aug. 20. Look for sharp price drops of 10% to 20%.
What's happening is legacy carriers are ending their high 'peak summer travel' surcharges and the low cost airlines will match prices by cutting base fares. A win for airfare shoppers who hurry, since the cheapest seats are always limited.
