The Core Systems Team at FareCompare is responsible for providing the manipulation and analysis of our airfare
data to produce the data that feeds our innovative airfare searching and analysis tools. This team works with
large quantities of data from a variety of sources to pull together complete airfare prices and then perform
analysis on those prices to detect market movements such as fare sales, hikes, and airline activity. Members of
this team enjoy a good design challenge and a have strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and
multi-threaded processing.

Product Manager

The Product Manager will be responsible for defining and documenting new product development throughout the product life cycle. The Product Manger will work closely with multi-disciplinary groups including Design and Usability, Core Systems Development and Marketing. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of Internet product management, possess excellent communication skills, and the precision and attention to detail required for defining Internet applications.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and continually refine the Product Roadmap.

  • Regularly monitor site performance metrics and continually optimize site features, flows, and functionality to improve performance metrics.
  • Write product/marketing requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the design and development teams.
  • Develops product wireframes and use cases to architect interfaces for new products and features.
  • Maintain the product and services roadmap, and champion the customer experience and usability during the development process.
  • Assist in the development of business cases to drive successful projects.
  • Drive product definition and priorities through entire product cycle, including development and QA.

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing scalable web products and website features for transaction-oriented, consumer-facing websites.
  • Proven success in taking new products/features from concept through strategy development, feature definition and launch.
  • 3-5 years experience in web product management.
  • Ability to think both strategically in planning a multiyear Product Roadmap and tactically to develop comprehensive, detailed specifications.

The User Experience Design team is responsible for designing FareCompare?s websites and mobile applications.

The Information Architect works collaboratively with the business and technology teams to design and deliver user experiences that delight the consumer. The role is based in Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Define site/application global structure.
  • Design wireframes and user experiences that optimize user flow for conversion to achieve business goals.

  • Proactively approaching prospects to determine their needs and distribution strategy, marketing initiatives, objectives, and budget cycles
  • Developing compelling and effective sales proposals via a consultative sales approach and through a thorough evaluation of our media solutions and available inventory
  • Designing and conducting presentations to professionally move the sales process towards timely agreement
  • Creating win-win relationships with clients and maximizing results
  • Ensuring a high renewal rate by communicating with client services team and clients to assure execution of contract deliverables and maximum program optimization
  • Maintaining regular call reports, sales pipelines and revenue forecasts

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in consultative sales and/or solution selling
  • Background in online advertising, online travel, and/or airline distribution
  • Successful negotiation experience with CPM, CPC and CPA models
  • Experience in international sales, with flexibility to work on international clients’ and prospects’ schedule
  • Technical sales experience (XML integration, etc.)
  • Proven track record of successfully exceeding sales objectives
  • Experience building Power Point sales presentations
  • Experience with Salesforce.com and 24×7 Real Media’s OAS ad server a plus

Attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to persuade via email and over the phone
  • Must be proactive with excellent networking skills, with the ability to prospect and find sales leads through internet research and phone calls
  • Must be both tactical and strategic, with the ability to visualize how things could be, versus how they are
  • Must have analytic skills required to interpret and explain campaign and website data to clients and prospects
